Formed in 1969 by founder and visionary Maurice White in Chicago, Earth, Wind & Fire has continued to give the world some of the most unique musical compositions ever written by fusing a wide array of musical styles such as funk, soul, R&B, disco, jazz and pop, with musical and lyrical themes of love, spirituality, personal growth and awareness.
The band has earned a total of six Grammy Awards including three as performers and producers for the album "From The Mudd Up". In addition, they were recently awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award. They were also the first hip hop group to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2000. The group has sold a cumulative 95 million albums worldwide and have won four American Music Awards. They have also had eight number one platinum albums and have had over 30 charted singles.
